Donald Trump missed a possibility after successful New Hampshire’s GOP presidential major in opposition to Nikki Haley on Tuesday, in accordance with a conservative commentator for CNN.
“He made a mistake final evening,” Scott Jennings stated Wednesday on the community.
“He may’ve walked on the market and simply stated: ‘This race is over. I respect all my opponents. I respect Ambassador Haley. All Republicans are welcome to hitch. Let’s go beat [Democratic incumbent] Joe Biden,’” added Jennings, a former aide to President George W. Bush.
“And he simply couldn’t do it.”
Haley, Trump’s onetime United Nations ambassador, gave an upbeat speech after her 11-point loss, criticizing the previous president and vowing to proceed her marketing campaign via subsequent month’s major in her house state of South Carolina.
Within the days previous to the New Hampshire vote, she had stepped up her criticism of Trump, questioning his psychological acuity. The tactic appeared to get underneath his pores and skin, as Trump’s victory speech was filled with grievances and insults directed on the former South Carolina governor.
“The Haley individuals went out and spoke early to attempt to bait him into that response. And he took the bait,” Jennings stated on CNN. “Now we’re going to struggle it out … for one more month.”
He added, “It was a strategic mistake.”
In the course of the victory speech, Trump fumed that Haley hadn’t dropped out of the 2024 race, commented on the best way she dressed and stated, “I don’t get too offended — I get even.”
The Haley marketing campaign responded by mocking his “offended rant.”
“For this reason so many citizens wish to transfer on from Trump’s chaos and are rallying to Nikki Haley’s new technology of conservative management,” a Haley spokesperson stated.
Trump didn’t appear to have cooled off by Wednesday, along with his criticism of Haley solely rising in vitriol. In one social media tirade, he said that anybody who donates to the Haley marketing campaign can be “completely barred” from his “Make America Nice Once more” motion.
