A video seems to indicate the phobia of passengers inside a Japan Airways airplane that was engulfed in flames because it landed on a runway at Tokyo’s Haneda airport.
The airplane, which had taken off from Sapporo on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, collided with a search and rescue airplane on Tuesday, Reuters mentioned, citing authorities.
A video, posted by X consumer @alto_maple alongside the caption “I believed I used to be going to die,” reveals passengers shouting and getting up from their seats whereas trying to evacuate the smoke-filled cabin.
One other clip, apparently filmed by the same passenger from the airplane window, reveals flames bursting from underneath a wing because the plane touches down.
Enterprise Insider has been unable to independently confirm the footage.
Separate footage from Japanese TV news networks reveals flames rising from the engine of the airplane because it landed at Tokyo’s Haneda airport, and passengers escaping down inflatable slides after which operating away as the fireplace unfold.
Officers mentioned that every one 379 crew and passengers on board Japan Airways Flight 516 have been safely evacuated.
Five of the six crew members on the Coast Guard airplane, an MA722, have been confirmed useless, NHK, reported. The captain is believed to be significantly injured.
The Japan Airways airplane, flying route JL516, was an Airbus 350-900, based on data from the flight-tracking website FlightAware.
JAL didn’t instantly reply to BI for a request for remark.
