(Reuters) – A suspect was arrested early on Tuesday after breaking into the Colorado Supreme Courtroom constructing in Denver and opening fireplace at responding law enforcement officials, native media reported, citing authorities.

Shortly after 1 a.m. native time, law enforcement officials had been known as to the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Heart in downtown Denver. Inside, they discovered a suspect who then opened fireplace at them, a spokesperson with the Denver Police Division advised native ABC information affiliate Denver 7.

Responding officers didn’t fireplace again. The suspect, who was not recognized, was taken into custody some two hours after officers arrived on the scene, the information station reported.

The Denver Police Division didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark. The suspect’s motive for the break-in was unclear.

The Colorado Supreme Courtroom has been the middle of a authorized battle which has garnered nationwide consideration after it disqualified former President Donald Trump from the state’s Republican main poll for his position within the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.

Authorities have stated nothing about any potential connection between the break-in and the Trump case.

Throughout Tuesday’s incident, an officer found a small fireplace had been extinguished by the constructing’s sprinkler system through the incident. Police didn’t say how the hearth began or what was burning. In addition they didn’t disclosed how the suspect entered the constructing.

Nobody was harm through the incident, Denver 7 reported.
