LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Activists from a Jewish group demanding a ceasefire within the Gaza Strip blocked site visitors on a busy Los Angeles freeway throughout Wednesday morning’s rush hour and snarled site visitors for miles, in keeping with the California Freeway Patrol.
The protesters from the If Not Now group sat down on the southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway downtown at about 9 a.m., bringing commuters to a halt. The protesters wore black shirts studying “Not in Our Identify” and held up placards demanding Israel halt navy operations in Gaza.
Video on KCAL TV confirmed just a few enraged motorists preventing with protesters earlier than police arrived.
About 75 protesters had been detained when CHP officers started clearing the freeway round 10 a.m., the freeway patrol mentioned.
Israel’s navy marketing campaign on Gaza has sparked protests in cities around the globe.
