A highschool basketball participant and his brother attacked the athlete’s coach after he was benched throughout a sport, Texas cops say.

The 17-year-old and his 22-year-old brother have been arrested on assault prices following the Tuesday, Dec. 5, incident outside Willis High School, in response to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Workplace.

Deputies mentioned the Willis Excessive College basketball participant “was benched on the sport as a result of his conduct towards an opposing crew participant, which infuriated (the 17-year-old) and his household.”

After the crew made it again to Willis Excessive College following the sport at Conroe Excessive College, the athlete and his household waited for the coach within the parking zone, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.

A “verbal confrontation” was adopted by the 17-year-old punching his coach within the face, in response to the sheriff. His brother additionally attacked the coach, authorities mentioned.

One other coach helped break up the battle, and the brothers fled the scene, authorities mentioned. The coach suffered accidents “to his head, neck, face and arms.”

They have been later arrested and charged with assault on a public servant, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. The brothers have been launched from Montgomery County Jail on $23,000 bonds.

The Willis Unbiased College District confirmed the incident and arrests in a press release to KTRK.

“The incident is still under investigation,” the district mentioned. “We’re deeply saddened by this incident and won’t tolerate this conduct from college students.”

Willis is about 50 miles north of Houston.
