A Delaware Chancery Courtroom decide has voided Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk’s $55 billion pay package deal. A Tesla shareholder had sued Musk and Tesla, arguing the pay package deal was extreme and that the corporate’s board “breached their fiduciary duties.” Within the decision, the decide says “the compensation plan is topic to evaluation underneath the whole equity customary, the defendants bore the burden of proving that the compensation plan was honest, they usually failed to fulfill their burden,” and that “The plaintiff is entitled to rescission.” The ruling could be appealed. For now, although, it means Tesla’s board must determine a brand new compensation plan for Musk, who will see his total internet price take a success from the choice.
